It would appear that some of problems lie with the Litchi app in FPV mode. Flying, yesterday, using both Litchi and DJI-Go apps in FPV mode, it was extremely difficult to push the drone past 600 meters using Litchi. It started the RTH at 200 meters, I would cancel, push it out further, RTH initiated, cancelled then at a little over 600 meters I just let it come home. I switched to DJI-Go and pushed it out 1KM before RTH initiated. Considering my altitude was only 60' that was pretty darn good.
Anyway, I analyzed the logs files from each app/flight and found the following. Litchi, upon detecting a RC signal loss, initiated RTH within 1.1 second or less. Dji-Go on the other hand, initiated RTH as expected. Three seconds after signal loss. Each log does show RC signal strength of zero throughout each flight at varying distances from home but only the DJI-Go app "recovers" because of the 3 second delay.
