funny point was brought up in one of the comments on the technology review article... being tethered, it is not much more useful or practical than a helium balloon.
If you put a gimbal/camera on a balloon that is tethered, you end up with a quiet version of this thing. Why is no one funding that idea?!
i do have to admit that the idea of a line about the size of a headphone cable that can be strong enough to reel the thing in at 500 feet and still carry enough power to supply that is the real innovation here. There's plenty of other uses for something like that.
