Custom cuts in rigid foam cases

Apologies if this is old hat. I decided to cut a deep slot for my tablet in my case's rigid foam. I discovered the easiest way to do it is to pull the foam out of the case, and using a long sharp knife, cut all the way through the foam. then push the cut block out of the bottom, trim it to the depth wanted, and fit the block back in. A little glue or tape, and you're done.
