Crashed my Phantom for the first time.

I've had minor hickups in the past, where it would tumble over when first starting up, but this was a first.

I noticed that all the lights were red, so after the car passed, I decided to bring it down, and that's when I realized that I no longer had control of it.. So I said, screw it, time to test out the fail safe mode, so I turned off the remote, which then the Phantom 2 proceeded to speed up, thankfully out of everyones way and crash into a berm.

The damage..
- Broken off gimbal $380
- 2 motors need to be replaced, they're making a funny noise $60
- Battery flew out and swell up on me $130
- 2 props are beat up and should be replaced $30
- I've noticed a crack on the body, not really a big deal, but to bring it back to original condition $70

Instead of replacing $680 worth of parts, not including shipping or tax, I ordered a new phantom 2 with a gimbal.

Oh that stinks!

I crashed mine this weekend, battery flew out, too. But by some miracle everything still works...

ouch, how long did it take to find it? You should keep it for spare parts

Did you order a whole new set up or just a replacement Phantom?

When you said sped up, are you referring to horizontal ? No altitude gain?

I saw the berm it hit, so it was pretty quick.

I ordered a whole new set up.

That's right, it sped up horizontally without any altitude gain.
