I have seen plenty of discussion on how to store our phantom lipo batteries for longer terms. And it is also my understanding that the battery inside the controller is a lipo, so I am wondering is there anything special that needs to be done to the controller for longer periods of time were it is not used.

Lipos' don't like to be stored at 100%. I would just use it till the third light on the RC stops flashing with two lights on, this way you will be about 50%

I cant fly because of rain and or work for a period of time.Is there any way to drain the controller manually.

This question has been coming up often lately, probably because it's getting cold out Although the controller does contain a Lipo, the consensus is it's not something that's worthwhile to worry about. In the time I've been here, I haven't read a single post of somebody's lipo battery going bad on a controller. And the manufacturer has no recommendation for storage of controllers. And even if one did go bad, seems to me it would be a relatively simple and inexpensive matter to replace.

Personally, I like to charge mine fully (four green lamps) and then use it for as many flights as possible until it gets down to one green lamp. At that point I charge it fully again.

That's all there is to it!

That's what I do too. I have many DJI remote controllers. I've never had trouble with any of the batteries.
