"Compass1 Disconnected" message

Any body seen this before? after noticing some drifting with my P4P, I thought a compass calibration was in order. After about 5 failed attempts, I noticed the "Compass1 Disconnected" message. I will not try to fly before this is fixed...to avoid a flyaway catastrophe. ( I did a succesfull IMU and Gimbal Calibration as well). Does anyone know why this would disconnect without warning? or experienced or heard of a fix for this?? I have been flying it for 2 years, and it has not been crashed. I usually update all the firmware/software when it is available (controller, P4P and DJI Go4), the only recent change I made was to switch from using the iPad 4 mini to the iPad 2018
