    I'm really curious.
Can anyone describe or flow chart the routing methods and frequencies of the various commands, controls, and data flow? For example, does the RC use 5.8 for both flight control and video data? What part does the internet play in controlling and transferring data? Is there a white paper available that explains it all?

Whoa, speak in simple english man so we can help :)
The RC uses 5.8 for flight control, up down left right, so basically the rc only talks to the blades.
The phone connects to the wifi extender and that then talks to the camera over 2.4. This is completely seperate to the rc and phantom. Think of them as 2 seperate entities.
The internet has nothing to do with anything, its basically 2 seperate local LAN connections. 5.8 for flight control and 2.4 for camera control.
    Does this help?
The only white paper is the one that should be at least 2 ply, preferably 3 ply ;)
