Charging a battery up to 50%

Hi everybody , is it ok to charge a drained phantom 3 battery up to 50% for storage , or it is better to fully charge it first and then dishcharge it to 50% ? I think that since there is an auto balancing function in phantom's smart batteries this can be done , does anybody tried that ??

My understanding is that the Lipos don't need to be charged to full first, as the older generation Li-Ions did. There is not a memory issue, so there is no harm to charging from low to 50%. MHO
