Sorry if this has already been mentioned in firmware 1.5.3, I just noticed an increase in video bitrate for my P3A.
Previously in firmware 1.3.2, 1080p/30fps records at 25Mbps and 1080p/60p records at 40Mbps.
Now 1080p/30p records at 40Mbps and 1080p/60fps records at 60Mbps.
Am I late to the party? :D

P.S. I wonder if P3P users also receive any increase in their video bitrate? I know a number of users would like their 4K/30fps video bitrate of 60Mbps to be increased.

@Noodle Would you consider uploading a short 2-3 sec video in 2.7k on dropbox or likewise so I can check the bitrate ? I would need the original footage.
Cheers!

You did note the original post was almost a year ago - Dec 15 - and there's been around 4 FW updates since then?

I know. However, there is no reason for DJi to reduce the bitrate on future firmware updates.

I just want to confirm that the 2.7K is at 60mbps on P3A

Hi necromancer :p

I just did some quick recording with my P3A just now on your request. Sorry I don't have time to upload the video now but you can click on that above link which shows a screen capture of 4 videos of different resolution and frame rate. As you can see, you are correct in doubting 2.7K video in 60Mbps. The two bottom screens are 2.7K, one in 30fps and the other in 24fps, both are recorded in 45Mbps. Only the top left screen with 1080p/60fps is recorded in 60Mbps. The top right screen with 1080p/30fps is recorded in 40Mbps.

BTW my Android DJI GO is version 3.1.0, the P3A is version 1.8.80 and the remote controller is version 1.6.0.

Hi mate. Thanks for the check..
Mavic Pro seems to have the same bitrate for video.
Yup - looks like in terms of video quality its Hero 4 Black, then the Sony X1000v or x3000 and then its the upcoming Phantom 4 Pro - based on specs only.
I reckon the best deal from my end is a Phantom 2 H4-3D or the Solo on clearance paired with H4B.
I would have taken another model if I had the option to use the Sony or another.

Huh? I thought Hero 4 Black only has maximum 60Mbps for its 4K/30fps and 1080/60fps video, while Sony and P4P have maximum 100Mbps video bitrate. Which means both Sony and P4P are better than H4 Black. I think the new Hero 5 Black has 100Mbps video too.

H4B records 2.7K Medium FOV in direct 1:1 crop from sensor in 60mbps. With Protune, it hits a sweet spot in terms of compression and quality.
The difference is noticeable if you are filming fine detail.
The same is available at 1080p120 Medium FOV in H4B.
I assume the 1080p60 in DJI cameras at 60mbps will offer comparable compression.
