Anyone clarify?
http://safetravel.dot.gov/larger_batt.html Look near the bottom of the page. Batteries for the P2V are marked ~57 Wh, which corresponds to more than 8 but less than 25gm equivalent lithium content (ELC) Lithium ion, making them "larger lithium ion" batteries, according to US-DOT. We're allowed one such battery installed in a device plus up to two spare batteries (those of you lucky enough to have four or five batteries might need to leave a few home). The page linked here doesn't say whether this is carry-on or checked baggage, but if you click on the "quick chart" link on that page, it looks like the spare and installed batteries must be in carry-on baggage and not in checked baggage - another reason for us to keep our birds in the overhead bin with a case of appropriate size. BTW: They recommend placing spares in individual plastic bags to avoid accidental contact with metal that could cause a short.
Hope this helps...
