Hi does anyone know if the camera ribbon protectors on eBay are worth getting and if so what is a good one ? Also the guard that goes on landing gear to protect the camera from knocks.
The Camera Guard is built well and seems like it'll add some protection if landing onto something. I haven't had the opportunity to confirm that though. There are a lot of similar guards, but some are made of plastic and/or do not appear to be made as well.
For gimbal protectors, I've tried the Inertia Guard and Phantom Fix (the original version). You definitely should not buy the original Phantom fix -- since it is semi-permanently attached with double sided tape and is hand made. The Phantom Fix 2 screws on and is machined, so it has a more precise fit. If cost is important, I'd recommend the Phantom Fix 2. If you're looking for the most polished product, then I'd recommend the Gimbal Saver. Both should offer the same amount of protection since the designs are nearly identical.
