Budget transmitter/reveiver for FPV

Hi all,
I am new to this hobby. Got a Phantom 2, next step - to add FPV.
I already have a Sony CCD camera and a 7" TFT LCD , which I have previously bought for other projects. LCD is not a high resolution, but I already have it and I can upgrade it later if it does not suffice.
Can someone recommend a 5.8Ghz receiver/transmitter pair that have a potent range? I would like to cap my tx/rx spending at $80.
Is there a budget receiver that I can use with ImmersionRC 600mW tx ? I understand that this option is above $80, but I am willing to go this way if I can use ImmersionRC.

I haven't done a whole lot of range testing, but it's been great out to 300-400 feet. I changed the antennas to these guys: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LTOC9SM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. That seemed to improve the signal even further.

Apparently, they came up with smaller and lighter versions of 200mw and 600mw transmitters, but I want to make sure that these don't overheat because heat has nowhere to go. These are relatively new and I can find little feedback on them.
