I also went for Nexus 7 as it's got very bright screen and it's small enough to mount on the controller, but still big enough to view easily with my aging eyesite. Add a hood and the brightest sunlight doesn't faze things. Like Jayfdee, I also made up an S-shaped ally extension strip for the clip and the whole thing works really well.
