Hi,

I've opened a refurbished Phantom 3 Advanced, and been through a few flights.

If I access the "status" section of the DJI Go app, it advises that the "Battery firmware update required". It appears the RC and the rest of the aircraft are up to date. I've been through the firmware update process, it only seemed to run for a second before the light went green.

I've pasted the log below. I can't totally follow this before it suggests that the version I placed on the SD card is a downgrade, but as far as I can tell I've downloaded the latest thing available from the DJI website. Any assistance in making the unit happy appreciated.

Thanks for that advice. I've put a copy of it here.

P3S_FW_LOG_AB.txt

It's nice that they have an extended log, but I can't really been able to see anything that stands out as the problem. Any advice appreciated.

Usually if the bin file is on the SD card ... the battery should update automatically in the first seconds of being inserted. It can take a little longer ... so what I suggest is to power up everything on the bench and then leave it for 5 mins with each battery in turn that you have.

Being also the Adv - it may be an idea to have WiFi enabled and your tablet connected to the home network ... just in case Go asks for updates.

There are 2 types of batteries; one has firmware [11 00], second has [11 01]. In your log:

Code:
 [00013691][11 00][00] v1.8.0.0 -> v1.8.0.0
 [00013815][11 01][00] v1.8.0.0 -> v2.0.0.33, firmware v1.8.0.0 not support.
 [00013864][11 01][00] v1.8.0.0 -> v2.0.0.33
So:
- You have a battery with FW [11 00]
- Your battery (at least the one which was inserted the last time firmware was on sd-card) has fw v1.8.0.0, and this is latest firmware for this kind of battery.

Thanks for that. I'm guessing this confirms the "Firmware upgrade required" alarm on the app is just an app bug. Which probably isn't unheard of.

Do you know anyone else with a P3 ? Does it do it if you put the battery into their machine ?

Battery FW will not hurt their machine in any way ...

Sorry no, I don't know anyone else with a drone in general.

It's continuing to fly fine, so I'll probably just leave it.
