This was originally filmed back in February, but it just won an award at the 2017 Los Angelees FIlm Festival. Here's an article containing the short documentary drone video.

Had that happen to me in Hawaii, broke my board in half, drove me into the rocks on the bottom, no help, just a lot of swimming and choking. I feel for them.

Hearing ya, got lipped trying to get on a 5m stinker at Margaret River, leg rope snapped, board disappeared and had a 150m swim back to shore. Must have prayed to every deity out there whilst getting hammered by the sets coming up behind me. Found the board way down the beach and just sat on the beach until I had the energy to walk again. However compared to the dude in the video, I've clearly got nothing.
