Antenna questions - Omni vs directional

I posted a question in the p3s sub but really it's a global question - posting here for more visibility

So let's say you have a p3s and you want to update it with 3 9db Omni antennas - they are dual band so you can use 2 for 2.4 and 1 for 5.8

On paper a directional 9db has a distance of 1320 feet and a omni has distance of 1200.

I know an omni is better at 5.4 but is anything wrong with using 2 omnis at 2.4 for video feeds ?

A lot of posts have conflicting information - some say it will reduce video signal and others say omni is the way to go since you won't have call to point exactly at the bird

So I wanted to post here to get some more opinions and visibility

I just ordered an argtek and will test that out and If i don't like it I will upgrade to a better antenna but for now I wanted to use the 3 dual band omni 9db ones - it has to better than stock right ?

Aside from less gain Omni will pick up wifi and other 2.4ghz services reducing your signal to noise ratio and available channels to hop around on.
