You don’t yet have the optimum alignment.

Slide the reflectors all the way down so the top of the antenna is captured by the holes at the top of the reflectors.

This assures proper alignment.

I have also found that it is better/necessary the file the bottom, outer edges of the outer cases of the reflectors to allow the attennae to stand more vertical as otherwise their fouling the controller body tilts the antennae down. A rubber band hooked over the top of the reflectors and around the controller's stand also seems advisable otherwise they seem to slip off when I bend over etc.
