Very interesting. The take from this is that CASA is now deploying DJI’s aeroscope units like coppas use mobile vehicle speed radar. Enforcing no fly zones close to airports and within restricted airspace fair cop. Where it will get interesting is if/when it comes down to an allegation that according to them aeroscope revealed a distance between the remote and drone of 627m and we think you could only have been within VLOS at 500m. Will that be a $900+ ticket? What about if the depicted flight path shows you passed over an area within 30m horizontal distance of a person not directly involved in the operation?

I'm for minimum government but some rules are justified and in place for legitimate reasons. Stay away from airports but if you must fly get authorization. I don't know about elsewhere but the FAA is probably one of the best run government agencies in the country. I don't doubt there may be times when some of the rule making defies logical but they seem to be open to advise and suggestions from groups like AOPA, AMA, etc. in adopting or changing rule. I think you do better trying to work with them than against them.

I'm not objecting to rules at all.
It's a pity that a lot don't adhere to them.
I'm just glad to be away from it all.

Unfortunately rules are always open to interpretation.
How will they know if there are people under you when you fly over?
It may be a place where people do go but not have anyone there when you fly over?

Logically it would require a direct observation with the witness available to test their evidence if the allegation is to be disputed. Who knows, maybe the authorities may enter a contract to an entity like Macquarie Bank to conduct enforcement (like with the mobile speed cameras).

Where I live,cordoba,argentina..the two only aircraft that I need to deal with are the one's owned by the big med's 'laboratory owner and the racing engine manufacturer that have ranches near by.
They fly touching the trees of my property, about 50 to 65 mts tall....
Do not see the reason why but the sound of the props let me know when they come and I know the flying path by earth....

Thank christ it's Canberra. Getting far too difficult to put anything in the air these days.
