50mm zoomed lens from Ragecams

I've tried the search feature but I can't find an answer.

Has anyone tried the 50mm zoom lens from ragecams http://ragecams.com/shop/50mm-mega-pixel-lens-installed-hero3-black-p-582.html on their H3-2D?

I need to zoom + gimbal + osd + some kind of recording the altitude. I think DVR on the fpv gear recording the OSD output would be fine...

I think at only 9 deg FOV camera shake would be a big problem on a Phantom even with a gimbal.

Still think you'll struggle with camera shake. Its got the equivilent 35mm camera focal length of around 150mm which needs a very high shutter speed and a steady hand to get shots. Put this on a shaky aerial platform...

$1000 is an expensive way to find out if it works. I can understand your reason to search around if it has been done before!

That lens would throw gimbal balance way off, most are only balanced for GoPro alone.

Look up ragecams. I saw were they have successfull installed zoom lens on p3a. They even have The bird with the installed lens for sale. They say that once they have installed the zoom lens your old lens will not fit anymore. (Try, ragecams dji ).
