Having gotten skunked the other day at my local Target & Best Buy store, I decided to try other nearby Target stores in my area today. I was successful at getting the store manager's to price match at 4 of 6 stores. A few things I learned from this experience:
1. Target will only price match on one item. So if you wanted to purchase two DJI batteries, they will only match the price on one of them. I was told that I could come back the next day and then they would match the price again.
2. Many of the stores said they did not price match GameStop.com. So, I printed out and brought a copy of Target's policy that confirmed that they
DO price match with GameStop. Once I showed this paper to the store managers they promptly matched the price. Below is the link to Target's corporate site:

3. At two stores the Target managers were going to match the price. However, once they checked GameStop.com on their iPads and noticed GameStop.com did not have the batteries in their inventory, they told me that they will only price match if their competitor has the item in stock.
4. One technique that I found very successful was once you get a Target store to price match, take the receipt from that store to the next Target store. While speaking to the sales associate / store manager show them the receipt from the first store and explain that the first store price matched. That is all it took for me at one Target store to get them to price match. However, this technique failed at one store. The manager at that store said although the first store priced match, he couldn't price match due to GameStop.com didn't have the item in their inventory.
The bottom line is to try several stores, print and bring a copy of Target's price match policy, use the receipt from another store as proof, and be polite to the staff. Being argumentative will probably not get you anywhere.
