Hi, I'm using a Phantom FC40 (Later Version with 5.8G RC, 2.4G WiFi), and really happy with it at the moment.
But I'm looking at fitting a cheap Gimbal.
Now my question....
Ok a 2 axis gimbal is easy to figure... The pitch is controlled by the extra lever control arm on the back of the transmitter.
But is there an extra control needed for the 3rd axis (Panning), and if so is it just a case of fitting an extra Pot to the transmitter.
I haven't got my Phantom with me as I'm at work for a couple of weeks, so can't peek inside the case to see if there is a connection for an
additional pot.

Thanks for your time,
Kim

There is no third control / pot for controlling panning on the transmitter. You simply pan the phantom using the left Joystick2 to yaw right or left. A good 3D gimbal may soften the movement a bit and sightly lag behind in the movement right or left. I find this to be a good thing. I have the Zenmuse HD-3D. Some have worried about getting one of the legs in the shot as they pan. I have never had this problem.
