I have a Standard and this was my best range test with stock antenna and windsurfer.

That is incredible for a P3S!

I will admit to flying one battery to go home warning, then ignoring the go home warning for a minute or two on the second battery after the first got back with over 30%.

I took my P3P out today for a 2 mile flight or 4 miles round trip! It did pretty good with a little wind.

Ha. It's actually not hard once you take off. Can't say I didn't sweat through this but it was fun.
Don't worry about 10k. Hell im trying to reach 20k. I know I can over water for sure. I broke 15k the other day before I got nervous.

@Captain Jerry: I think the previous posters meant horizontal travel distance, not altitude. In fact, the original poster specifically mentions that he was 394 ft up, within the FAA rules.

Speaking for myself, I've had a new P3A for six days. I've logged 40,493 meters (over 25 miles) of travel in 2h14m of flight. My greatest distance from home - so far - was approximately 3400 meters (11,154 feet or 2.1 miles). All these journeys took place in the open desert.

I am very pleased with my bird's stock configuration performance.
Open desert (aka ideal conditions) with a windsurfer will allow the bird to fly to the limits of the battery. When I fly above something interesting to see, like my neighborhood, range drops to maybe 5K feet. I'll be upgrading to powered dbs as it will increase penetration ability. And that's never bad, with drones or anything else..........☺

I've gone 18,540 stock, no mods on P3A.
I would've gone further, but I got close to the mountain ridge.

I got over 14K feet for the total flight, chasing dirt bikes around a track. Max battery temp too
