Will these antenna for controller mods work?

Hello I've modded my transmitter and range extender with helical antennas in hoping to improve the range. I added New AOMWAY FPV 11dbi 5.8G Helical Antenna Right Circular Polarization SMA | eBay on my transmitter and added RC RADIO CONTROL FPV 2.4 GhZ RHCP 8 TURN FPVLR LONG RANGE HELICAL ANTENNA NEW | eBay this on my range extender, they are both right polarized antenna, well I took them out on a small test and they ended up getting the same distance which is around 2500 feet or sometimes less than the stock antenna. Am I doing something wrong or using the wrong type of antenna?
