when will they learn????

There have been several cases where firefighters have started fires here in the States too. I have no doubt that happens.
What I doubt is the story coming from the moniker "Bryce" simply because of the source. I'll leave it at that.
But here is a clue to the fabrication. Bryce claims he was in an area of our state where wildfires are an annual problem when he overheard the firefighters talking in public about how they would let fires rage. This is a rugged back country high in the Cascade Mountains, most of it covered by the 4 million acre Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. A huge sparsely populated area of old growth forests. Again, the National Forest area alone is 4,000,000 acres - lots of land.
Now Bryce wants us to believe that he heard this conversation:
"never put them out when they are an acre!... what are you crazy? We let that go a few more days and we have months of overtime..."
I find that pretty funny. "Wait till it grows to an acre" ??? Most fires wouldn't even be visible in that vast wilderness until they involve many acres. We've had 3 firefighters die in the past week here, and each year several firefighters die while fighting these monstrous fires. The conversation Bryce claims to have heard simply does not have a ring of truth to it.

What does three firefighters dying have to do with anything? Your reasoning is VERY flawed. It's got more truth than you'll know. You need to get your head out of the dirt... I'll 'leave it at that".

Meh, I see both sides of the coin on this one.

If I were flying fires in a +10k lb twin or a slow moving helicopter, I would not allow the concern over swapping paint with a 2lb drone make me lose sleep at night nor stop me from fighting fires over it. I wouldn't enjoy the thought of it. But I also wouldn't allow it to keep me on the ground if there were lives I could save by flying.

However, if I were flying fires in a +10k lb twin or a slow moving helicopter and my company decided that their ops spec dictated that I stay on the ground when 2lb drones have been spotted in my drop zone, I would do as my companies ops spec dictated because I've still got job to keep and a mortgage to pay and food to put on the table.

Which is a very long winded way of saying they're right, but not for the reasons they'd have you believe. If flying your drone is going to keep fire fighters on the ground (and it is apparently), stop flying your effing drone. Period.

Not knowing the character - I can say nothing - However, - I can hardly believe fire fighters being in a place of R&R with "civilians" in earshot - would venture into that kind of conversation.

The retards who start fires here for overtime.. IMO - set out to set a little fire that warrants a call out - but dry grass and shrub bush fires that start off small soon grow and get out of hand. Luckily, the pro's can usually spot a "fake" fire and look for the culprit.

For those who may object to my use of "retards" - believe me, when caught and videoed going to court.. it makes me wonder why some were ever allowed outdoors without an escort, let alone near a fire station.

These weren't "firemen" in "fireman" uniforms... these were "summer workers".

Yes they were so ! He said so in post # 16 see
I was sitting behind a group of 'firefighters'

Objection! Is a fire fighter a fireman Your Honour?

Nah, he must of heard enough of this very public conversation to determine they were not firemen, nor firefighters, but just "summer workers" talking, in public mind you, about how to let fires burn out of control for a few days to make more money. Yup, public conversation in one of the West's most notorious wildfire zones...
But I'm glad we got that story straightened out. ;)

Talking loud enough for people who's homes and workplaces be in danger - to hear?
Not in fireman's uniforms - I would not call it "uniform" more like protective clothing.

In Aus, the rural fire service depends on volunteers, not "real" firemen? - well they have to be trained to do the job and they do wear protective clothing - so it sorta sets them apart from "civilians" be they locals or ghouls waiting for the worst to happen?
Are you saying these not real foremen were in T shirts ,shorts and bare feet?

Oh. They weren't firemen after all.

They make money off "fighting" fires. You can refer to them how you want... you can do the math if their minimum wage with overtime satisfies the "fighting" fire requirement. There is a big business "fighting" fires in Eastern Washington.

Why did you lay down and roll over and let them get away with that ****? Why did you lay there and lick your chains of apathy when their decisions could cost others their homes, their property, their very lives? You should have called the police and had your witnesses tell them about the criminal behavior of these "summer workers" who had the very least would have been banned from fighting fires.
You could have been a hero. Now your just a zero repeating gossip that you should be ashamed of not acting on.

But, according to you, this couldn't have happened. I won't refer to you as a moron looking for attention.

Another thread shut down due to members fighting with each other.

We are suppose to be a community of hobbyist & professionals who all have the same love for our flying camera platforms. It seems some of you would rather come here to cause chaos and disruption.

If you see someone out of line, please, just hit the report button and let us do our job. Don't engage them. By doing so you must lower yourself to their level. If you respond and they respond back un-rationally, just let it go, or if it is warranted, make a report. I know people don't want to "let them get away with it", or prove someone else wrong but it just never ends well.

So the thread is now closed since it is no longer productive. But I will leave you with this quote...

To argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason is like administering medicine to the dead.
