What is s1 switch do?

I am getting delivery of a new P3 Standard tomorrow and was reading the instruction manual and have a question about switch 1. What does P mode, A mode and F mode mean? Can't find a expiation in the manual for that. Thanks in advance.

You can use S1 to change the flight mode. From the manual:

Thank you. I fly a Yuneec and this a little of a learning for me. So if you have good GPS just leave in in P mode? And all the functions are done on my iPhone?

You can keep the S1 switch at the top even if you don't have a good GPS signal. Check out the Phantom manual for more information about what happens when you have less than 6 satellites. It does a pretty good job of explaining the various flight modes.

I agree, the instructions and videos are overwhelming, but necessary. I received the Phantom 3 standard as a Christmas gift and this is the 5th straight day of rain.
I want my inaugural flight to be successful thus I'm reading the manuals and hoping for good weather.
