Hey everyone. I'm new into the drone world and have some question about filters for my P4P V2. What are your typical go to filters? Polarized, ND polarized, ND? What stops? Etc. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone tried these?
Drone World

Or am I better sticking with Polar Pro or the DJI branded ones? Any preference between those two?

For video you will definitely want ND filters to shoot in bright sunlight with the lens at it's 4-5.6 sweet spot (assuming you're on 100ISO and 1/60 shutter speed). I love my set of Polar Pro 8,16,32 NDs. To be honest I use the 16 for 95% of my video work. The others are just in case. Whether you need polarizers or not is up to you & what you're shooting. Polas can help with water reflections and knocking down sheen on leaves as well as generally boosting greens & blues. The problem is that you have to set the angle before you fly. If you want to shoot the other way you have to land and rotate to keep the optimal polarizers rotation. Best of luck!

Thanks for the reply! I assume you like the Polar Pro over the DJI or the Drone World brand I posted? Do they have to be removed to install the stock DJI gimbal holder?

I haven't compared the Polar Pro filters to others (I just know they work great) but if you search this forum you'll see several discussions with peoples thoughts on the matter. Yes, the stock gimbal guard does not fit with the PP filters on the camera. You can put it halfway on, cut the front off for it to fit or buy PP's gimbal guard (which is what I chose).

Hiw about for photos? Same filter recommendation? Or do you tend to use different filters for photo only?

For photos, most people don't bother with NDs unless they specifically want a shallow depth of field look. Polarizers are more common (again, if you want to minimize water/glass reflection or sheen on leaves and boost greens/blues). Other than that, for stills you're good to go. If you haven't already, I'd also recommend searching this forum for stills settings since there are a great number of really talented folks here who share their thoughts on the subject.

Additional filters are of almost no use at all for stills when you are photographing with a drone.
The only uses they would have are for very specialised purposes.

An ND filter used for stills will reduce the light passing through to the sensor.
It will force the use of a much slower shutter speed but will have no effect on depth of field.
