iMovie, but since you are asking here I'm assuming your on a Windows machine. Go Pro Studio is free and pretty good, I believe its cross platform

I've been using GoPro studio and iMovie , I have Final Cut Pro but haven't found the need for it yet for what I do...

No , I mainly use a MacBook Pro which came with iMovie , GoPro studio will work on either Mac or PC...

You'll like it , it's straight forward and has nice features , many tutorials on you tube...

GoPro Studio is definitely an alternative and provides good features.
Unfortunately rendering takes it's time, particularly if you use Flux to support speed changes.
