Now the days are fast getting shorter here in Iceland. Most of the time I have possible to make some flights, it is raining and therefore I can't fly as I used to. But what about the battery. What is the best way to protect it over long time in no use? Please excuse my english...

define "long time". they'll auto-discharge to 50-60% after the default 10 days of inactivity as long as you don't mess w/ the button on the front. That should suffice. If you're talking months, I have no experience but I've read about sticking them in a freezer.

Let them drain to 50% as bbfpv said. I usually store lipo's in a small cooler with a few packs of silica to keep them dry, then put the cooler in the basement.
