I'm actually glad I stuck to the firmware I'm on, which isn't that far behind but stable. Could this be why the current firmware can't be downgraded? Either way, I'll fly my p3a until it doesn't want to anymore! In the mean time, I'm almost certainly going with an I2 before long.

I think the last FW I ever updated too and have stuck with was the 1.8.80. Never had a lick of trouble with it and some of the best range. I just had a gut feeling that the newer firmware was somehow contributing to the products obsolescence.

P3a...on aircraft firmware 1.41, remote 1.320+, app 2.83. Saw this coming a long time ago.
