I agree. Just saw a comment of a guy saying he recovered his GoPro without the waterproof housing from saltwater after 4 hours and the SD card worked. May be a little extreme, but not all that uncommon. One guy had his Phantom submerged for a a couple minutes, dried everything off and it all worked the next day.

7.5 min till deployment seems a bit slow. Would be great if it included some sort of beacon on the float.

Yeah, but there is no other product on the market that does the same things. That being said, deeply times depend on temp. of water, and other factors. Your results could be closer to 3 minutes. The water was VERY cold.

As you can see in the video, 90% of the bobber is shot to the surface. You could attach a light if you wish.
