Watch out for low fliers

On the beach at Hilton Head well outside Class D and this helo came up very quickly, less than 200 ft right along the shoreline. Thankfully I was not in the air.

A couple years ago while vacationing at Nags Head a military chopper would fly by low every morning around 9.

As they flew by at the same time every day, I would've wanted to be waiting overhead and video the fly-by from above. That would be great footage!

just because you have permission to fly (non-towered, or with authorization) doesn't mean the sky is clear. Even in our airplanes, there are tons of planes without ADS-B and some with no transponder at all. Watch the sky!

Exactly. Scout the area, be aware of your surroundings. It surprised me just how quickly that helo came up.

And the mandate for all to have ADS-B is now pushed back until 2040.
