Like most things, the editing suite needs to be a good match of software and computer hardware. What will your output be , YouTube, BluRay disk, etc.
I use Magix Video PrRo X7 and most burn BluRay disks for distribution. As someone else said, you edit in your mind the software is just a tool BUT I add, it helps to have software and hardware that will let you do what you imagine.
I also have learned that I need to have a shooting plan made before I take off with the Phantom. When I just take off and fly around, taking video as I go, I get home and think, "I wish I had gone there and videoed that".
Also, just have fun. It takes a long time to get good at timing the edits, sound, shooting, etc.
