Tx update to Futaba

Question: I see people making reference to TX updates......do I need to do this to my new Futaba tx? I come from phantom vision camp and am a bit confused on this issue.

I use a Futaba 8fgs, didn't have to update anything... that I know of anyway.

Those updates are for DJI transmitters only, not Futaba.
