Hello everyone,

As many of you know, AES is always looking for ways to innovate and shape the future of the stock imagery business model.

For most companies out there, stock footage is a business driven by one goal: MONEY.

We at Aerial Entertainment Studios share a passion that is common to many of the forum members : TRAVEL.

That is why we have introduced a whole new way for customers to pay for the footage they purchase on our site. Given many of our customers operate in the tourism industry, we now offer the possibility for customers to pay in the form of:

- TRAVEL VOUCHERS
- HOTEL LOYALTY POINTS
- AIRLINE MILES

This is a revolutionary way of operating that benefits all parties involved.

1) Pilots: They get to travel the world to keep on capturing stunning imagery. Furthermore, these benefits have no real monetary value (except for travel vouchers) which means no official income is generated from the sale of footage.

2) Customers: They don't need to pay in monetary form, which saves them a lot from an expense standpoint. Furthermore, they get access to unique footage that allows completion of the projects they work on.

It's a win-win.

As an example, we just recently 'sold' the below video to a leading hotel chain in Mauritius and they paid us in 'Loyalty Points' which are sufficient to pay for 5 nights in any IHG hotel globally.

This was sold on a non-exclusive basis which means the video can be sold again and again to different customers.

If you have never considered selling your footage, but are passionate about traveling and exploring the world, you should look into creating your seller account on AES. We offer unique benefits to our contributors and service levels (for customers and contributors) unparalleled in the industry. Ask around and you will see.

Feel free to reach out to me for more information.

I've received a ton of PM about this and people are excited about the possibility of getting paid in other forms than money.

However, a few people have mentioned some fears about hurting the professional market and lowering the standards for the industry.

I'd like to explain how this works so there is no confusion. The payment option is just that, an option. It is not an obligation for buyers, and sellers are not obligated to accept either. It's a bit like eBay where people make offers for goods and services, but the seller has the liberty to accept or reject. Same concept here.

Quality work will always have market value, and we are simply introducing more customer centric options that can be beneficial for all.

We certainly don't want to get into the debate of Pros vs. Amateurs as it is not relevant. We've seen a number of pros (who have operating licenses) but can't produce any form of quality content from a visual perspective. They can fly great and operate the drone very well, but the artistic and creative aspect is lacking. We have also seen a number of 'amateurs' who produce stunning content. Most people on these forums would fit the profile of being 'amateur' but many produce professional grade content.

All we are doing is expanding the options for content creators and customers.

Would love your opinion on the below.

Would you accept payment in the form of hotel points, travel vouchers or airline miles if a customer could offer that option?

Cheers

Patrice
