I'd have to challenge the tip that suggests: To be safe, take the extra 15 seconds and calibrate the compass every time.
It is not necessary to calibrate every flight and it can be quite safe to fly for months without recalibrating at all.
Unnecessarily recalibrating the compass can actually have the opposite effect because it introduces the risk of calibrating in a bad location and giving your Phantom a bad calibration.
Understand compass calibration , what it does and when/why it is necessary and fly safer.

I'm also wary of Use RTH only as a failsafe.
It's extremely important that Phantom owners are familiar with RTH, how to use it and how to cancel and resume control.
Every flyer should experiment with RTH to know how to use it when they need it.
