I looked around this forum and on the web but could not find anyone who build a Drone test stand. I build one for helicopters a 100 years ago but I can't remember how I did it. The stand will allow lift and drop maybe 2 ft and forward and reverse and left and right. Works great to let you know you can unleash the bird in the wide open or not!

That would work and be very easy to build, but I would like something a little more mechanical. Thanks, you have me thinking now.

The nice part about the rope is that you can get the aircraft out of the ground effect.

A friend of mine uses this when testing drones that are a bit iffy after repair. It can’t fly away from you and if you are beyond the reach of the rope it can’t fly into you either.

Sounds good! I have come up with a mechanical device that will let the drone do everything but crash. I will start working on it very soon. I have to limit my work a little because of Doc's orders. I just had a TAVR heart valve replacement on 3/27/25. I feel fine and ready to, but due to Doc's orders and the wife I will hold off a couple pf days. I will report back with my progress.

Don't worry about the Doc, worry about the wife :) Hope for fully recovery soon
