I was in a parking lot. Using L-Com antennas and Rf-Linx amps to penetrate through all the trees. 80%+ of the flight was below horizon of ground.

I run the antennas directly out of the amps (A mount must be fabricated) to get the best saturation. So these are without the magnetic base:

You can run on car 12volts, but the batteries are great.

If I'm not using the intelite panel I'm using the car set up. Yes, it will cut through objects most well. You will certainly notice the difference. The Rf-Linx amps have a 20db RX value. That RX boost is where it's all at. The TX value is 1.5 watts, but the control signal is usually not an issue, the RX is important so the video feed isn't lost.
