Stupid question, Ipad and updates

I've never owned an iPad, but can't you turn it off to where it won't automatically update? Thanks..

Yes. In settings. Under the iTunes & App Store tab

Slide the sliders to off (not green)

Thanks Jim, with that being said, from what I've been reading, seems as thought it might be a good idea to disable automatic updates in regards to what it does to the Phantom.
