My two crashes were inside my outbuilding and running into my wifes new truck. I have Macular degeneration in one eye and depth perception is a problem. LOL
Luckily no damage done.
We should both consider using spotters. LOL

Yep, there is nothing wrong with taking off from a comfortable chair sitting on a nice shady deck. It makes the screen easier to view too. Just fly out there in the open and reset home for "just in case" I even have a portable table to set the controller, 2 chargers and a cold beverage on while I am flying. Lol, I make myself comfortable.I just want to thank you for suggesting I should reset my home point after takeoff. I have tried resetting it before (not for this reason) and it was unsuccessful. I may have been too close to the original home point, but it works great now. Just tap the little (H) marker on the left of the iOS screen and select the aircraft to reset. I feel a lot better about covered deck takeoffs now.
Sounds like a winner. I have to use the camera to see how far away I am from objects, and when landing on a pad. I think I'm 10' from a tree, sometimes' but if I don't use the cam I'll land right into it. LOLWe should both consider using spotters. LOL
