A friend of mine gave me his spx01's to use with my P4. They didn't have any instructions with them, and I haven't been able to find anything on the web about it (if there is any kind of settings I have to change on the controller, or in the DJI Go app, or on the goggles themselves). I have the HDMI upgrade already installed on the controller, and all the cables needed to hook it up. When I hook up the goggles, the picture on the tablet goes to black & white, and freezes. The PIP on the goggles is working, but the main picture is blank. I may have to take the whole thing to the hobby shop to have them look at it (the nearest one is over an hour away), so I thought I'd try here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There used to be a setting somewhere in the GO app settings to enable/disable HDMI output. Some people have reported that this setting has been set backwards, i.e. turning it off turned on the HDMI output. Try and find that setting and toggle it.

I had a set of Spexman goggles which I later swapped for another brand.
If the RC FW has been updated, you need to go into your settings and enable simultaneous outputs and the OSD to bring up the display on the goggles. From memory there is also a switch on the goggles that needs to be enabled, you are right though, I had no instructions supplied with mine when I first bought them.
