reviewing the lightbridge user manual I discovered that it lists Spektrum radios as being supported. Does this mean that the lightbridge receiver can be used with Spektrum radios just like that? see picture below:

Yes it does, the RC controller does not communicate with the lightbridge using an air signal (in fact you should set your transmitter to not transmit at all) it connects to the lightbridge by the trainer port.
