Hi Phantom Pilots,

I sold my Phantom 4. Do I have to un-register from DJI?

DJI offers no process to unregister drones.

The new owner will just need to install DJI GO, log into their DJI account, and fly. Since the drone is already registered, the new owner will not be prompted to register it.

If I’m not mistaken the P4 should have been registered with the FAA regardless of operations within the guidelines of 14CFR 107 operations or not. I would consult the regulation for your exact answer. If you never complied with the reg, no worries.

True (for people in the US). The OP is asking about registering the drone in DJI GO though.

If you register with the FAA as a recreational pilot, you're not registering the drone with serial number. You're actually registering yourself as a pilot and you're required to put your registration number on all of your craft. You're required to adhere that number to the drone in a place that requires no tools to see it, such as inside the battery compartment, or on a battery surface hidden inside. If you sell a craft, simply remove the pilot's registration number and you're good.

I use a white Avery label with my Name, Ph# and FAA number, and word "REWARD" printed on it with a computer. The label is trimmed to fit on a flat recessed surface of the battery wall that goes inside the drone battery tray.
