You can store the iPad in the same case you have without doing any mods. The iPad is thin enough that it fits in between the foam and the back of the case.

All you need to do is take the top foam off, position it on the phantom ( where it would go if you closed the case). Now put the iPad on top of the foam and then close the case and zip it.

Now that I know this and have put it to practice, I'm pretty darn satisfied with this piece of kit as a daily tripper... Thanks!

I bought this backpack from MC-Cases on Amazon.de, for 159 euros. It's very light (1.1 Kg). It has place for 5 batteries plus one in the Phantom and enough space for a couple of sets of propellers and other accessories.

I like the looks of that backpack Alexandro, can you measure it and let us know the outside dimensions when packed? Good price too.

Hi all,
Just received my Pro Craft backpack from Amazon UD$149.Am very impressed with quality and level of storage. Here is my video review.

Cheers
Hey, nice case. It looks a lot like my Think Tank backpack that I paid $240 for. I'm guessing it's made by the same manufacturer, or one is cloning the other. There are subtle differences. Amazon ad says the OD being 14" W x 20.5" H x 9" D, that's very close to carry-on compliant. I like it!

Yes it is very close to carry on limit, I will let you know the outcome of that in a couple of weeks.
Cheers

Nice backpack. I too have the ThinkTank Hellipak for my primary P3P. Thinking I should pick up one of these for my backup P3P. Thanks for the review.

There won't be an issue with carry on. Pro Craft has the same dimensions 14x10x20 as my Think Tank Airport Helipak which I've used as a carry on a few times.

But, if you are traveling to Mexico and press the red button for inspection, you had better tell them that it is worth only $500 x the number of people in your party. I took mine to Mexico in November, traveling with my wife, and customs taxed me 18% of the difference between what I told them (undisclosed here) and $1000 ($500x2).

+1 on the GPC backpack limited edition. Just received mine a few days ago and it's awesome. Very comfortable for carrying on a hike.

I also used the DJI Manfrotto backpack for a while. I really liked it as well, but it is a tighter fit if you have many accessories.

Mine is a case from MCM Electronics. The 22" weatherproof case.
I have this case as well, but there are a couple of problems. Number one is it is not tall enough. The way you have yours set up, there is a lot of pressure put on the motor spindles by the top of the case (look at the height in the pictures). This is not good. I cut out a square in the top mine to give more room. Secondly it is very heavy-probably 15 lbs empty. I'm going to try something else.

I John, the measures are: 48 cm x 38 cm x 20 cm when only packed inside. Even with other stuff in the front pouches it should fit the standards for a hand-luggage case.
I choose the backpack instead of a hard case, because I drive mostly with my motorbikes, and here in Switzerland there are a lot of nice spots that you can only reach after a walk.

hey jeff b...thanks for letting me use ur registration numbers!!!! Just kidding...you shud tape off ur numbers when u submit a pic....just sayin....

No need to cover up the registration. They are all listed in the FAA's website. You don't see airplane numbers covered up.

I love my case works very well!!! Pelican case.
