I don't have an sd card in my phantom 4 pro. Is that the reason it's not connecting to my RC. ??

The P4 pro should connect whether you have an SD card or not.

I'm getting the red light on the rc but it's not connecting to the phantom.

I was going to try putting the card in when I got home. I was hoping that was the problem. Just got it back from dji

Can you connect the controller to Go OR Go 4?

Yes the RC connects to the device. I'm using iPhone or iPad Pro.

If the AC and transmitter are on and you have a red light on the transmitter you need to relink the two. You can do this thru the Go app and the button on the side of the aircraft. Take a look at the manual for instructions. Very simple task.
