Wish he had showed the range. Unless you could edit out the drone noise, I don’t see much use. Maybe hear thunder with lightning video.

Agreed. The motor noise would make it pretty useless ON the drone. Using the Rode as a local mic with the drone acting as a camera at a distance would work. If you are broadcasting live from the DJI app you could set the phone/pad on a tripod of some sort and use the Rode to allow you to move around and perhaps catch additional local footage from another camera.

MPP, me thinks your idea is the most practical use.

Still need to know range. It would be fun if you could send your drone a mile away and talk to people and hear them. I had even thought of strapping a 2nd phone, to my P4. To try 2 way distant communications, while filming. Anybody tried it? What? Can’t hear you over the motors. Try again later.
