Recommendations on what iPad for Go app and Phantom 3 pro

Not sure what drone firmware or DJIGo app version you're running, but here are the final firmware release notes for the Phantom 3 Pro from DJI for reference.

There are numerous settings in the GoApp you need to be familiar with before flight. These settings are crucial in what the drone does in case of loss of signal.

Hello again Captain I been playing around with the go app and the setting you reference I have it set to return home. I need to check what firmware i have I'm pretty sure its the latest as for i get no warning when Go app is on. I have a feeling i made not be using the Go app when dropping baits as for i need to fly lower then the altitude setting that the Go app will take Id rather be about 25ft above water, fly out a 100-150 yards then ill just hit RTH button.

Just be sure to have your RTH altitude set correctly for the return flight.

Plus, The GoApp should not be limiting your lower flight altitude. Even if you have the altitude set at the imperial range in the 'box', the GoApp uses metric (meters) for flight altitudes...(if I remember correctly) . Experiment and see before venturing off over water to be sure.

You should be able to hover inches off the ground at any time.

Captain changing the setting to imperial only changes what you see on the screen for speed, altitude and distance.
I have not been able to set my max height to anything lower the 20 meters is way to high to drop bait from I want to fly low as for its less windy and quicker to release bait if a birds fly's to close. I live on a lake and will give it a try tomorrow but im still thinking i might end up flying this manual and hit the RTH button

Ok. 20 meters is about 65 feet...........so the maximum altitude you can fly is about 65 feet at that setting. You mentioned wanting to fly at about 25 feet or less to drop bait. So you CAN fly at ANY altitude up to 20 meters/65 feet at that setting.

But, be sure to set your RTH altitude to avoid any obstacles on the return course.

The only thing i don't care for so far is the limits on the height the min is 20 meters and id rather fly lower over the water for doping baits, Id like to be 20 ft or so off the water. Any suggestions will be of help
Thanks again for your comments guy's
The app does not restrict you to a minimum altitude of 20 meters for normal flying. You can fly as low as you are brave enough to fly. You can set a max height in the app.
There is a minimum limit of 20 meters for the RTH altitude. 30 meters is the default setting. It sounds as if you are confusing that with normal flying.

One thing to be careful about based on what you are planning to do with bait. Your Phantom will auto land at its current location if RTH is activated and it's within 20 meters of the home point. It doesn't matter what's below it when it auto lands. Lake, river, ocean, lava. It will land there if it's within 20 meters of the home point.

Hi Oso
I understand about the RTH setting but it also has a Max altitude below that setting. I thought that one was not associated with the RTH I will differently keep a eye on were this thing wants to land and just bring it in myself if need be.
Thought Id show you my fleet Aircraft / Water planes i also fly. This is why i wanted a Phantom 3 it can lift some weight I have 2 lb's hanging from the drone ready to release and why i want to fly low.
