Perhaps I'm the only one in the forum that is upset with the battery life of the PV2+ range extender, but I am. First off, there is no indication on the unit itself about the state of the battery**. Secondly, an external port to a supplemental DC port would be useful, and perhaps a special mini-USB connector that only supplies DC input might work. I haven't dismantled the RE, I don't know the circuit details, nor do I know how the li-Po gets charged through this port.
** just one example: controller on, RE on with green lights, Phantom on, but RE fails to bind to my iPhone Wi-Fi. Recharge RE and binding is quick and normal. I would imagine that the wi-fi range suffers in proportion to the RE battery charge consumption.
If anyone shares my problem and knows enough about the circuits involved to point to a solution for a supplemental battery, I would appreciate hearing from you.
Regards, Tim
