Proper battery discharge

Does anyone know whether the charging hub is designed to be safely left switched on for months in storage mode so that when the battery drops below storage levels it will automatically come on and charge up to storage levels again?
The hub is designed to fully charge the batteries (and stop) or discharge them down to the storage level (and stop). It's not designed to continuously attempt to recharge/discharge batteries that are left connected. And you wouldn't want to do such a thing anyhow since charging batteries unattended is frowned upon (since batteries could catch on fire while charging in rare cases).

Thanks for your prompt and logical reply :)
