New here and new to the phantom drones. I bought it used for $80 just the drone. Bought a battery and charger for $50 and a controller for $40. Got it all set up and linked and firmware updated. Upon turning it on, it makes the initial start up noise, and gimble does it’s thing. Then no nothing from the drone. The gimble light is solid green but beeps 2 beeps continuously. App says everything is good, but try auto takeoff and nothing. Gimble will calibrate, but when I try to calibrate the compass or imu it says disconnected. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here’s a photo of the app. Tried to upload an 8 sec vid of the drone but it said file was too large

Welcome to the forum!

You got a ways to go.

#1 First thing what is the status light on the remote?

#2 Status light (Link light / button) on the Phantom?

#3 What is the rear lights doing on the back of the Phantom?

Status light on the controller is solid green as well as the link light on the drone and gimble. The leds do nothing on the drone arms.

Never?, these are the lights on the rear where you can see the battery.
They should always be doing something when its powered on.

The fronts should be solid red, but they can be turned off.

Do you get an image from the camera?

You must not geting telemetry (data) because you would data from your battery, number of satellites, elevation, etc.

They do nothing ever. I get an image on the app and the gimble moves if I pick the drone up and move it around. The app says connected and ready. Is it possible someone may have taken the guts out? Would the gimble and camera still work if they did?

I'm really getting lost on this one.
App says connected and ready. "Ready to Fly" ?
Does the app show number of satellites?
Have you tried a normal start motors with the sticks? Make sure you have the props off.

Rod

Not on my iPad or iPhone. It says connected on the home screen, but when I go into the flight screen it says diconnected in red at the top left, but camera and everything still works. Which I read that there were issues with the app and Apple products. On my wife’s galaxy it says connected in green and everything looks just like when I fly my spark. But when I do auto take off, it does nothing and gives a warning. I don’t have props on it. The controller doesn’t make it do anything either

I know nothing about the spark, does it have lights in front and back like the phantom?

Unless somebody else has an idea, I would be looking at the stuff on the inside.

Both lights being green Phantom, Remote and even on the gimbal, and it don't work?

The rear lights are the Phantom's status.

Rod

The spark has lights, I was using the flight stays of the app for reference. All three of the lights are solid green. No lights whatsoever on the drone though. And the gimble beeps 2 beeps constantly. I know the beeps aren’t from the drone because the drone makes a much louder sound on startup

Does it make four different beeps on start up? That is each motor (self check).
Other beeps come from gimbal / camera.

Rod

Are you sure the jingle is not the four beeps (tones)?
