Should I have any issues flying within 100' of these high lines? Something is telling me yes but it's been a while since I took electrical & RF theory.

I dare say you'll be fine.

I've flown 160' from a transmission tower (first image) and had zero issues.

I'm no expert, far from it....But they shouldn't cause electromagnetic interference or interference with your transceiver even up close.

No, unless they are at a power station itself, which is a no fly area anyway. I fly over high tension lines all the time. They will not interfere with the signal at all. Stay clear about 50ft just due to barometer altitude readings, sometimes the suspension support lines are hard to see.

There are effects but they fall off with distance - at 100+ feet you should be fine.
Any effects also depend on the current carried.

We flew a Powerline Inspection for a client this weekend and flew directly over the lines at about 20' up a mountain for about 1.5 miles. The client is needing to get pictures and video of each tower, pole, connection and the access road that switches back & forth up and down the mountain. (see attached)

On the right side was the transmission lines supplying power from the base of the mountain up to the amusement park at the top. Up the center of the lane was simple "illumination" wiring going from one light post to another. On the far left are chairlift towers that we documented but they are off-topic for this thread since they carry no current what so ever.

Absolutely zero interference to our DJI Mavic Platinum after 3+ hours of close flying.

It definitely matters what type of lines they are.
